Talk:NMOS diode-biased cascoded current mirror

From ICclopedia

Don't forget to add some of the shortcomings of thin diode devices

Important note to consider: if M5 is kept thin and small -- using minimum allowed width, then sizing length for desired current -- to attain the largest cascode bias per area and current: this could result in a large variation in cascode bias which may ultimately degrade the mirror performance. Furthermore, if the cascode bias current is chosen too small the cascode bias may be more susceptible to noise.
